So What is Business Intelligence (BI)
To us, its just a fancy term for analytics. But really it’s about so called Business Intelligence tools such as Qlikview, Tableau, Microstrategy, well established products that have gone “mainstream” over the past number of years making BI accessible to all, accelerating production times and “speed to insight”.
WHAT YOU GET FROM BI.
- Automates and secures the combination of data from different sources. So no more spreadsheet hell – takes away need for cumbersome (and insecure!) excel modelling based on lookups, links and copy and paste
- Turbo charged in-memory handling of massive data sets multiple times larger than can be managed in tradition solutions, such as Excel – a great feature if your spreadsheets are struggling under the weight of large data sets
- Rich functionality on premise or in the cloud with on the fly, rapid response slice and dice analysis and compulsive and compelling reports and visualisations
- Easy to install, easy to use, easy to learn, giving the User self-service analytical capabilities
Our technologies
We have built applications using Qlikview, Qlik Sense, Microsfoft Power Pivot, Microsoft Power BI, Microstrategy and SAP Lumira (and not forgetting the original desktop BI tool, Microsoft Excel), connecting to and combining data from many data sources such as SQL Server, Postgres SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Navision, Sage, Access, EPOS log files, DBF, xls and xlsx, csv and delimited files.
